Bridgeport 1-26 Meet Report & Video

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The Bridgeport Purple Knights gymnastics squad won their home opener Friday night with a score of 193.550, as Alaska Anchorage scored 191.125, Ursinus scored a 190.025, and Rhode Island College put up a 188.425. With their score Ursinus tallied their highest score since March 2017. Rhode Island College also set a new school Vault record of 47.625.

Individually, Nova Staruk of UB won Vault with a 9.775. Teammate Abigail Kenney and Erin Roe of Ursinus had 7.50s to tie for second and the third highest score was picked up by Lola Sepulveda of Bridgeport. Emma Tucker of RIC led the team with a 9.7 and Montana Fairbairn had a 9.625 to post UAA’s best score on the apparatus.

On Uneven Bars, Sepulvea swung to a 9.825 to take 1st. Emily Hernandez of UB and Emily Walker of UAA each had 9.8s to come in second. Jada Niles of UAA tallied a 9.75 for the third highest meet score. Adison Tanguay 9.55’s led Ursinus and Olivia Keyes of RIC had the team’s best score of 9.4.

Over on the Beam, Bridgeport’s Olivia Imbarlina held steady for a 9.85. Sepulveda was second with a 9.825 and Keyes had a 9.775. UAA’s Claudia Lessig posted a 9.75 for the Seawolves best score and Bella Leo and Madison Zimmerman of Ursinus each had 9.725 to score first among Bears.

Sepulveda was the top scored on Floor notching a 9.850 as Staruk had a 9.8 for second. Teammates Catherine Aucoin and Kenney posted 9.75s as did Kelsey Gates of RIC and Megan Matteucci of Ursinus. Ariana DeSouza had the best UAA score with a 9.725.

In the All Around, Sepulveda took first with a 39.225, Kenney was second with a 38.475 and Keyes compiled a 38.275 for third.
