DURHAM, NH – The LIU Sharks took the team win over the host UNH Wildcats and fellow visitors the Bridgeport Purple Knights in a gymnastics triangular Sunday afternoon. LIU compiled a 195.225 to take the crown, while UNH put up a 194.8 and UB scored a 192.8.
On the Vault, UNH’s Kylie Gorgenyi hit a new personal best scoring a 9.875 to win the event. Fellow wildcat Anna Challman hit a 9.825 and Serena Mullin tied their best and Jenna DeVincenzo set a new one with 9.8s. Nova Staruk of Bridgeport tied for third as well with a 9.8.
Syd Morris and Alana Ricketts were LIU’s top performers posting 9.775s.
On the Bars, Gorgenyi also took first thanks to a 9.850, Morris was second with a 9.8, and Kenadi Brown of UNH, and LIU’s Kate Parks and Isabella Savino each had 9.775s. Abigail Kennedy led Bridgeport swinging to a 9.75.
Morris took the beam crown with a 9.975 earning a ten from one judge! Mullin, Rickets, and LIU’s Annalisa Page placed second with 9.825s. Kenney had Bridgeport’s top score of 9.8 which tied them with Taylor Doten (LIU) and Alyssa Beaulieu (UNH) for the third highest scores of the meet.
Finally Gorgenyi captured Floor with a 9.875, Challman had a 9.85, and Bridgeport’s Lola Sepulveda and Morris flipped to 9.825s.
In the All Around Gorgenyi and Morris shared the title each compiling 39.375s. Kenney had a 39, and Sepulveda a 38.9.
